Miles Stair

Miles Stair

Miles came to St. John in 1972 to work at the front desk of Caneel Bay Resort to “stay the winter and get a tan". Advancing to Food & Beverage Manager at the resort, meeting his then wife-to-be Susan and his keen interest in outdoors activities cemented his love affair with St. John. Joining Holiday Homes of St. John in 1985 was easy – both his parents had held real estate licenses in Virginia while he was growing up. This natural progression led to enhancing his continuing real estate education (GRI, CRS, and CBB designations) and then purchasing the company in 1992.

As an active community leader, Miles’ affection for St. John has ingrained him into the island’s weave of education and business leadership. Miles’ many positions over the years include President of the St. John Board of Realtors, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Gifft Hill School, Commissioner on the VI Territorial Governing Board of Hospitals and Health Facilities, President of Estate Chocolate Hole Landowners Association, Vice Chairman of Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park, President of the Friends of the E. I. Sprauve Library and as a Charter Member of the St. John Rotary Club.

An avid sports enthusiast, Miles can be found hiking, running and paddle boarding, taking advantage of St. John’s unique environment. True to being active in the community, Miles continually participates in the many of the islands sporting events including the 8 Tuff Miles, the St. John Landsharks annual triathlon and the Beach to Beach swim. Miles also pursues his athletic activities off island with such events as bicycling across America to raise funds for the Virgin Islands chapter of the American Lung Association, Boston and New York Marathons and hiking the length of the Appalachian Trail one summer.

The unique blend of knowledge of the island, love of the island and business experience gives his real estate clients a unique buying and selling perspective of St. John.

Christie O'Neil

Christie O'Neil

After becoming a sales agent with Holiday Homes in 1986, and obtaining her Broker license in 1990, Christie was pleased to be welcomed as a partner and co-owner of the firm in 2001. This was just the latest move in a long and successful real estate career on St. John dating from 1985 when Christie and her sons sailed into Cruz Bay. She quickly vaulted into the ranks of top producers on the island and has skillfully juggled the demands of raising twins, community service, and the many hours spent helping visitors to become island wise and fulfill their dream of ownership on St. John.

Always in the forefront of Realtor education, she has taken extensive courses and qualified for the following designations: Certified Residential Specialist; Certified Residential Brokerage; Graduate Realtor Institute; Resort & 2nd Home Specialist; Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist; Certified International Property Specialist; Transnational Referral Certification; and she is currently pursuing NAR’s “Green” Designation doing the environmental specialist training. She has also completed the courses for the E Pro tech designation but is awaiting certification.

Christie is a Paul Harris Fellow Rotarian, a member of the board of Island Green Builders Association, serves on two homeowners’ associations boards, and is on the Advisory Committee for the Board of Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park. She still loves to sail (now on other peoples’ boats) and is a past director of the St. John Yacht Club. As a sailor, scuba diver, avid snorkeler, hiker, skier (her sons now live in Colorado), and world traveler, Christie is an active outdoor enthusiast. She was St. John Chairperson for the VI’s America’s Cup Challenge (with a trip to NZ!) and in 1999 she bicycled across America from Seattle, Washington, to Washington DC for the American Lung Association.

Some of her achievements have included being President of Virgin Islands Territorial Association of Realtors for two terms in 2007 & 2008, also being President of the the St. John Board of Realtors for two terms, and she has contributed years of service on the board of directors for the National Association of Realtors. In 2012 Christie was appointed by our Governor to the VI Real Estate Commission and now serves as its Vice Chair. Her real estate highlights have included many consistent years as top producer on St. John, and sales of the simplest as well as highest end properties throughout the island. Christie has truly helped hundreds of people with their real estate needs on our island in the sun. Her commitment to her clients and customers, and her enthusiasm for their real estate needs is well known.

Abigail Schnell

Abigail Schnell O'Connell

Abigail was born and raised on St. John. Working in her family’s pottery studio and vacation villas from a young age gave her an early advantage in St. John’s unique real estate market. As one of the founding students of St. John’s first private elementary school, Abigail then attended the Caribbean’s finest college preparatory institution, Antilles School in St. Thomas. After graduation in 1995, she attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale before excelling in Public Relations with retailer Neiman Marcus. Abigail succeeded again quickly in a hot & competitive market when she joined the Galleria Collection of Fine Homes Real Estate firm in Fort Lauderdale. This propelled her to make her dream come true and return home in the summer of 2002 to begin her real estate career with Holiday Homes.

Abigail spent two years working with Merchants Commercial Bank in developing and marketing of their new branch office on St John. She brings valuable insight to Holiday Homes from her banking experiences. She spent several years serving in various officer positions on St. John Board of Realtors, currently serves on The Friends of the National Park Advisory Council and helps with many other community organizations.

Abigail enjoys morning walks with her family—Husband, CJ, their young daughter Olivia and pooches, Nutmeg and Coco—through their neighborhood of Chocolate Hole. Abigail considers herself truly blessed to have her family living on St John.

Her diverse background makes her uniquely suited to help you navigate St. John’s real estate market to make your Caribbean dream come true!

Sandra Mohler

Sandra Mohler

Sandy was born and raised in Colorado, but after coming to St John on a vacation, she didn’t have any problem giving up skiing for sailing. The Rockies are beautiful, but the Caribbean’s natural beauty, and weather here are hard to beat. While crewing on boats, she got a chance to spend several years sailing around and seeing most of the Caribbean islands. Sandy sailed back to the VI on a boat she helped to build in Bequia and started a sail repair business in Coral Bay. There she met her husband working next door at Coral Bay Marine. They merged their business and lives, and raised their daughter. After several years of living on boats they decided to buy some land and build a home. It took a few years, but they enjoyed living and working in St. John.

Sandy obtained her real estate license in 2006, and with 5 solid years of real estate experience she joined Holiday Homes in March of 2011. While continuing to work with the marine community in St John, Sandy enjoys helping others find their own place in paradise.
